My wife, Leslie Graves, and I live near Spring Green, Wisconsin. We’ve raised three children–Sara, Kelly and Colin. Although I grew up in a sprawling Irish-Catholic family in the Detroit area, when I moved to Wisconsin in the early 1980s, it did not take me long to adopt the Packers and Badgers.

Growing up, my father taught us the art of creating a backyard ice hockey rink. We do that now at our Spring Green house.

In another life, I’d start a “build an inexpensive hockey rink in your own backyard” business.
